Monday Photo Feature

by Jessawhy

Stealing (well, borrowing) from Jana’s brilliant Friday Photo Feature, I’ve decided to put up some photos today. Since I received my a fancy professional camera for Christmas, I’ve been talking about doing photos for friends to see if I’m cut out for photography as a side business. My friend Danielle volunteered her family for my first photo shoot on Saturday. They’re pretty adorable and we had a good time.

I really love photography. Mostly, I love seeing the images on my computer, on my walls, in frames, everywhere. I love manipulating the color and the size, the cropping, and the focus. imgp1253

While I’m very much a beginner, taking photos brings out a creative side of me that I’ve never really explored. I love the feeling of making something, with my hands, with my own ideas.imgp1580

So here’s my first real try. I’ll admit that I don’t know enough to understand why nearly all of my photos came out too dark (during the late afternoon when lighting is ideal).  If you have suggestions, please feel free to comment.

I’m terrible with anything visual, so I have no advice (don’t even own a camera), but those are cute! I really like the third one.

The best person to talk to is Exponent’s own Heather S.! She took my high school senior yearbook pictures, which were fabulous (WHY CAN’T I STILL LOOK LIKE THAT) and she did others too, I know…
