Sexism is Real, Even When You Are Prime Minister

Being a female prime minister brings some quirkiness to the job, as Jacinda Ardern could tell you. She has headlined in Vogue in addition to typical political publications such as Time.  Sadly, since the announcement of her pregnancy, the interview questions began to be more personal, and now, they are just plain disturbing.

Kiwi PM Adern In ‘Creepy’ 60 Minutes Interview (BBC)

The Sydney Morning Herald article is here.

Though I am pleased to see that this interview has been labelled as “creepy”- the fact that it ever happened- from the interviewer to the editors and producers who created the segment– shows how sinister the world still is for successful women. (Remember, PM Ardern is a former Mormon and her uncle is Elder Ian S. Ardern)
