Summer 2017 Call for Submissions: The Environmental Issue

“Nature helps us to see and understand God. To all His creations we owe an allegiance of service and a profound admiration. . . Love of nature is akin to the love of God; the two are inseparable.” — Joseph F. Smith

foggy treesOur Summer 2017 issue of Exponent II will be on the theme of nature, the earth, and environmentalism. How does your faith influence your feelings about conservation? Do you worship the feminine divine through the living world? If you consider yourself an environmentalist, how does that identity work with Mormon theology and culture? What worries you and/or brings you joy about our relationship to the environment – as a society? As a church? As an individual? Please tell us about your walks and your work, your interactions and connection with nature.

Submissions should be 700 – 2700 words and can be sent to exponentiieditor AT gmail DOT com. The deadline is April 1, 2017. We look forward to reading your work.

Ooh. I’ll have to think about this one a bit! We were able to get bike racks installed at our building, which is great. Also, I once tried to run a campaign for garments to be sustainably created, but that didn’t really go anywhere. Bah!
