Caroline in Space: What I will Teach My Daughter

Ann has questions about prayer and process

From Heather (I’m relieved I’m not the only one who has a the whole funeral planned my head by the time my husband calls to explain why he is unexpectedly late . . .)

True story: The year I was teaching 4th grade, I forgot about Halloween until the night before and didn’t want to be the only member of my class without a costume. I went for simple and inexpensive, by way of CVS. Fake eyelashes, fake 2-inch nails, a fake mole on my nose, and a long black dress — I was going for a hint of “witch” ala Roald Dahl. However, the 9-year-old Romeo of the class walked in, dropped his bags and said in a voice of pure adoration, “Oh Miss F — you look just like a Victoria Secret model!” . . . I had fun telling his mom *that* story.

Just because:
Paying attention . . .
What’s the matter with being polite? Women and language
Why I try to be careful in my e-conversation . . .
.
